I'm a board certified neurologist and sleep medicine physician, and hold a certificate of competence in neuroimaging.
in 2016, my practice and sleep center will be folding into LGMC's Neuroscience center and we look forward to building a new LGMC sponsored sleep wake center staffed by Dr Adam Foreman and myself, two sleep medicine boarded neurologists!
I have focused my clinical efforts on the testing and treatment of sleep disorders, and neurological problems including seizures/epilepsy, stroke and stroke prevention, Parkinson’s disease, and other conditions. this will only grow more sophisticated and comprehensive with Lafayette General to support me and my staff and our efforts to help the patients of Acadiana.
We will continue to do in house sleep studies and EEGs and EMG/nerve conduction tests.
I manage baclofen pumps and deep brain stimulators for Parkinson's and Essential Tremor, and look forward to more experience with DBS for appropriate candidates.
I do Botox injections for chronic migraine and other conditions as well.
Independently reviewing my patients brain and spine MRI's and CT's is something I find interesting and rewarding.
I obtained my MD from LSU New Orleans in 1996, and my MBA in healthcare from UL Lafayette in December 2011.
I graduated as an Honors Research Program Graduate from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and did residency at Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
I grew up in Kaplan and after residency was eager to return to Acadiana.
I began practice in Opelousas in 2001. My clinic was initially called CNC or comprehensive neurologic center.
Dr JY Bordelon, pulmonologist and Acadiana sleep medicine pioneer suggested that I get certified in sleep medicine.
I worked alongside him in the OGH sleep disorders center for 3 years.
In 2003, I opened a satellite neurology clinic in Lafayette.
In 2004, I opened a two-bed sleep center here, then subsequently changed the corporate name of my practice to Comprehensive Neurologics & Sleep or 'CNS clinic'.
Within the first year of opening, our Sleep Center was accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
I have been a member of the American Academy of Neurology (1998-present), American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Louisiana Academy of Sleep Medicine, the National Sleep Foundation, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the American Society of Neuroimaging.
I strive to give my patients straight talk and cost conscious care. I hope that our good reputation for providing conscientious care only grows stronger with our joining forces with the progressive LGMC family!
I decided to close the Opelousas office during the spring of 2006 and concentrate on my work in Lafayette.
